What is OpenMandriva?

OpenMandriva Association (OMA) was established on December 12, 2012 under 1901 French law. It manages some Free software projects, including OpenMandriva Lx—a GNU/Linux operating system—that is a free alternative to the wide world known Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS.

OMA is also the name of a worldwide community of people who are passionate about free software and want to lead in the creation and spreading of free code & content by working together as a community.

Why OpenMandriva?

We are a 100% community-driven association that believes in the values of free software & collaboration. We fight to protect these values and promote solutions anyone can use, change and distribute. OpenMandriva believes in creating, improving, promoting and distributing free software in general, and its projects in particular. We also crave for promoting free exchange of knowledge and equality of opportunity in software access and development, as well as in education, science and research. Our products are developed with passion by the community and aim to be flexible in use by all.

Ce qu’est OpenMandriva

OpenMandriva a été créée le 12 Décembre 2012 sous la forme d’une association loi 1901 et gère des projets de logiciels libres, y compris OpenMandriva Lx, un système d’exploitation GNU/Linux, qui est une alternative libre aux mondialement connus Microsoft Windows et Apple MacOS.

OpenMandriva est aussi le nom d’une communauté mondiale de personnes qui se passionnent pour le logiciel libre et veulent créer et diffuser du code et des contenus libres en travaillant ensemble.

Pourquoi OpenMandriva ?

Nezisková organizace OpenMandriva Association byla založena 12. prosince 2012 na základě francouzského zákona 1901. Spravuje vybraný svobodný software včetně OpenMandriva Lx – operační systém na bázi GNU/Linux – který je svobodnou alternativou k Windows či Mac OS.
OpenMandriva je též název celosvětové komunity nadšenců do svobodného software a chce být lídrem v tvorbě a šíření svobodného kódu a obsahu prostřednictvím vzájemné spolupráce.

Proč OpenMandriva

Jsme spolek zcela řízený komunitou, který věří v hodnoty svobodného software a spolupráce. Bojujeme za ně a propagujeme řešení, která může kdokoliv použít, změnit a šířit. OpenMandriva věří ve význam vytváření, zlepšování, propagaci a šíření svobodných programů jak obecně, tak i u svých produktů.
