GCC 6.1 vs. LLVM Clang 3.9 Compiler Performance

Phoronix published a review about GCC vs Clang performances.
OpenMandriva is currently the only distribution that uses Clang as main compiler.
Though there is no clear difference between both compilers, that proves, at least, that we are not wrong using it 🙂

    hi !
what is the exact purpose? stability speed?

Is the gain in time shortcuts compiling the distribution from source or it also helps when running compiled binary or operating sytem with llvm ?

    regards

    1. Clang is said to be faster than gcc in terms of compiling time. That is an advantage for building the cooker iso every day.
However, here, the benchmarks show the efficiency of the binaries produced.
